dynamic positioning system induction course
Objectives:
To provide DP System Operator, Vessel Matters, Mates, and personnel closely associated with day-to-day DP System Operation with the ability to acquire practical knowledge in the following:
- The principals of system operation, set up, operation of equipment, and position reference systems.
- Recognizing system alarms and warnings
- Relating the DP control system to the various sub-systems
- Recognizing the limiting conditions presented by wind, seas and current
- Setting - up and monitoring the DP system
The training consists of theoretical lessons, as well as practical exercises and demonstrations. Each of the students will have considerable hands-on training on their own DP operator station, using latest state-of-the-art software and training facility. After the course the student should be ready for phase two in the NI training program.
